If you have an administrator account on Whooo's Reading, you can send activation code emails to teachers or other admins. These activation codes, once used, will connect that teacher's or admin's account to the school or district on Whooo's Reading. This will make that teacher's classes visible in admin accounts and/or give admins access to see all teacher classroom data in a school or district. Activation codes can be used to create a new account or can be inputted into existing accounts.
Important: It is best to select a rostering method for your school before sending out activation codes to teachers.
To send activation code emails, click the dropdown in the top right corner of your admin account and choose Settings:
On the Settings page, click Activation Codes on the left:
On this page, you can input the names and emails of teachers and admins that need to be connected to the school account, either one-by-one or in bulk –
One-by-One – Type the first name, last name, and email address of a teacher or admin. Select their role (see more on "role" below), and click add. Clicking add will not send the activation code, and the entry can still be edited or removed until you send all of the activation codes using the green button.
Bulk Entry (teachers only) –
Click "show bulk entry" to open the bulk entry field. Input teacher names and emails. Be sure to pay attention to the format of First name, Last name, Email, with each person on a separate line. Click add to input the list below for verification. Clicking add will not send the activation codes, and the entries can still be edited or removed until you send all of the activation codes using the green button.
Click the green Send # new Activation Code(s) to send everyone you just added an email from Whooo's Reading, which will include their unique activation code, information about Whooo's Reading, and instructions for getting started.
How to choose what Role to assign –
The role to assign to each individual is often straightforward, but can be tricky in some cases. There are two main differences between teacher accounts and admin accounts on Whooo's Reading:
- Teacher accounts can hold classes of students and create assignments, while admin accounts cannot.
- Admin accounts have access to all classes in the school or district, while teacher accounts access only their own classes.
If access to all classes is needed by someone who also has classes of their own, that person will need both a teacher account and an admin account. We recommend using two different email addresses to support each account in this situation. If you need help, reach out to us!

- Log in to Whooo's Reading
- Click your name in the upper right
- Click "Settings"
- Click "Status/Plan" on the left
- Click "Have an activation code?"
- Enter and submit your code: ABCDWXYZ

Note: you will not need to input your activation code, as it's built into the link above.
IMPORTANT: To avoid rostering issues, all classes within a school should be rostered using the same method. Please determine which rostering method your school will be using before adding any students (your admin may have already determined this in the school settings).
