If you have a Google Classroom account, you can sync your Whooo's Reading account with your Google Classroom account to allow your students to log into Whooo's Reading using their Google accounts instead of a Whooo's Reading username and password.
You can sync with Google Classroom at the same time that you create your teacher account, or within your account if you already have a teacher account created.
After Sign-Up (already have a Whooo's Reading Account): If you already have a Whooo's Reading teacher account, you can add Google Classroom through the Student Roster. Click on Roster in the top left of your account.
From the Roster page, click the Add a Student button:
Click the Sync Google Classroom button:
Click the blue Start Sync button.
Then jump down to Step Two, below.
During Sign-Up (have never created a Whooo's Reading account before): If you have not yet created a Whooo's Reading account, go to www.whooosreading.org and click the blue Sign Up button, then click Sign up with Google:
Step Two: Log into your Google Classroom account using your email and password:
Next, verify which classes you would like to sync into Whooo's Reading using the checkboxes:
Once you have selected only the classes you would like to sync, click Next.
Verify that the correct students are selected using the checkmarks. Deselect any students you do not need to sync (including students you have synced previously):
Once the correct students are selected, click Complete Sync.
An orange banner will appear in the upper left corner of the screen until uploading is complete.
Note: It is okay to log out or close Whooo's Reading during the upload. Leaving the page will not stop the upload.
Once you have added your students through Google Classroom, they can follow these instructions to log in.
Note: If your classes are sorted differently in Google Classroom than you need them to be in Whooo's Reading, you can move students between classes after you sync to reorganize them how you need them.
If your students already have Whooo's Reading accounts and you would like to connect those accounts with Google Classroom so that they can log in with Google, first follow the steps above, then contact us at email@example.com BEFORE your students log in using Google. We will consolidate the original student accounts with the Google Classroom student accounts.
