With Teacher's Picks, you can assign or recommend books to students. To access Teacher's Picks, select Picks from the website header:
On the Teacher's Picks page, you can assign either offline reading (texts available at school or at home), or online reading (texts available online).
To assign offline reading, select the box with the + sign on the left that says Add Title.
Type in the name of the book you are looking for in the search bar, and select it from the dropdown menu. If the book you are searching for is not in our collection, you can always add it!
Select the students you want to assign the book to.
You can also click All Students to select a class or group you want to assign the book to.
Your book will appear in the Assign Offline Reading column.
To assign online reading, select the box with the + sign on the right that says Discover.
A list of articles and books will appear. You can filter by Grade Level, Website, Fiction/Non-Fiction, and Topic using the headers above.
To assign an online text to your students, click the Assign button, and select the students you want to assign the text to. Your text will appear in the Assign Online Reading column.
Clicking the arrow icon next to the text title will lead you to the online text in a new browser window.
To add your own online texts to our library, select the box with the + sign on the right that says Add URL.
Fill in the Title, Text Type, and URL in the pop up window.

Your students will see the texts you've assigned on their Student Dashboard under My Tasks.
From there, students can easily click one of the Teacher's Picks to start a quiz, answer a practice question, log reading, etc.
When students select a task with an online text, a Read it Now! button will appear under the text icon that opens the text in a new browser window.
