Sentence Starters give students the first few words to a written response to help them jump-start their thoughts and answer the question. They also help save time for students who struggle with typing and spelling. Thirdly, they help students learn how to restate the question.
There is one starter for each part of the question. For example, "Who was your favorite character and why?" will have two sentence starters. They might be "My favorite character was..." and "I liked this character best because..."

You can turn sentence starters on or off on your Roster page. Find the class you'd like to edit and expand it, then click Edit Class. There, you can turn sentence starters on or off using the drop-down:
In Whooo's Reading Silver or Gold, sentence starters can be turned on or off for specific students to differentiate their experience on quizzes. To adjust a student's sentence starter status, locate and click on the student, then turn sentence starters on or off using the drop-down:
