Class Codes on Whooo's Reading are single-use codes that allow your students to create their own accounts, choosing their own usernames and passwords. The accounts students create with a class code will be automatically linked to your teacher account, to the class on your Roster associated with the class code they use.
Note: If student accounts are already created, students do not need a class code to log in. Class codes are single-use codes to create accounts.
To access your Class Codes, go to your Roster page. First, make sure there is a class listed on your Roster page for each class you will need. If you need to create new classes, here's how.
Once the classes you need exist on your Roster page, click Edit Class under each class in order to create a Class Code for that class. Simply click Add Class Code if there isn't one yet:
Next, click Add Students on the Roster page and choose the Class Code button:
You can then pass along to your students the code itself or the direct URL to their class.
Next, see How Students Use Class Codes.
Important Notes:
1) If you have multiple classes, get multiple Class Codes by adding additional classes. Each of your classes will need a different Class Code to keep students separated into multiple classes.
For example: If you have three different periods of students, you need three empty classes, such as Period 1, Period 2, and Period 3. You will then be able to access the three different Class Codes using the steps above.
You can add classes by clicking the Add Classes link at the top right of your Roster page. (See how here).
2) If you have already added your students to your Roster page, you do not need to use a Class Code. Class Codes are used only once by students to create their own accounts and are not needed for them to log into accounts that are already created.
If you have already added your student accounts, see Student Login Information to learn how to access your students' usernames and passwords. See How Students Access WR to see how students log in.
