To allow students to create their own accounts, you can supply them with a Class Code. (See Class Codes to learn how).
There are two ways to give students your Class Code:
Option One: Give students the class code, itself
Have your students go to www.whooosreading.org, click Log In, and choose Student. They will then need to click Have a class code? beneath the username and password fields. That will take them to a screen where they can type in the Class Code you provide them:
Option Two: Give students a direct URL
To provide your students a direct URL to the Class Code page, add your Class Code to the end of this URL:
www.whooosreading.org/class_code_student?passphrase=
Example:
www.whooosreading.org/class_code_student?passphrase=ABC1234
If you give students your unique Class Code URL, they will skip the login page and go straight to the page to sign up.
Next, students should click the white I've never been here before button to create their account:
This will bring up a page for them to input their information:
Students can use any username or password, but usernames must be unique across the program. If a student tries to use a username that is already taken, they will see an error message and will need to choose a different username.
Once students click Sign Up, they will immediately be taken to their new account and can get started right away! Each student account created this way will be added to your Roster page.
Note: Class Codes are one-use codes, and will not need to be used again once the student account is created. Next time the student logs in, they can simply go to www.whooosreading.org and click Log In.
